The Professional Communications course has been a grateful course and taking it this semester was the best time for it. This is the HD year for most of the people who are taking this course, so it got everyone ready for entering the working field. This course has developed our professional and academic skills. It also got us ready when we are going to apply for a job in the near future.
Our research, reporting and presentation skills have been developed in a professional way. I thought I knew how to write a CV, but when I started this course I found out more about preparing a CV. For example it should have a proper appearance and the information have to be organized in a specific order like from the most recent to the earliest. I learned also how to do the cover letter that is attached in top of the CV. This letter should not contain too much details and it goes directly to the main points. This letter if it is written in a professional way as we learned from this course 90% it will get you in an interview in the nearest time where ever you are applying for a job.
The idea of getting in an interview was really scary until we had the experience being in an interview during this course and practicing the two sides of the interview. We also got the opportunity to prepare for a meeting from the begging of it. We learned how to do the agenda and the memo before the meeting and the minutes after the meeting.
In general this course was an amazing and very systematic, as we started with the CV and ended up with the professional way of writing and referencing the projects. The order that we started with this course and how we ended it, it is going to help us after graduation. In my opinion I think if we started with writing the report and the referencing it was going to help us during the semester with the other topics.
